Activities

The Blackwell staff provides a variety of enrichment activities for students. Our PTA and parent volunteers also offer classes, clubs, and many opportunities throughout the year.

Safety Patrol is just one of many activities that students may

choose to participate in!

  • Battle of the Books This is a fun reading program sponsored by LWSD Library teacher that is offered to intermediate students, to promote enjoyment in reading quality literature.
  • Big & Little Buddies Throughout Blackwell, buddy classes have paired up to give older students a chance to work with younger students, and younger students get to know our older students.
  • Choir The Blackwell Choir, directed by David Moore, is open to all 4th and 5th graders who are interested in singing and learning more about music.
  • Running Club PTSA sponsors the Running Club which allows participants a chance to cover as many miles, on foot, as they are able to!
  • Safety Patrol is an opportunity for students to serve their school by keeping students safe when arriving and departing from school.
  • Student Leadership is a great leadership opportunity for students at Blackwell. We have two representatives from each fourth and fifth grade classroom. Those representatives are nominated by the students in their classroom. Mrs. Krueger and Ms. Bien are the advisors.
