National Public School Volunteer Appreciation week is celebrated April 20 – 24. LWSD would like to thank our volunteers for all of the ways they support students and staff. This week we will highlight volunteer contributions at four of our schools.
At Blackwell Elementary, former students of teacher Carol Nicholson, who now attend Eastlake High School and Eastside Catholic High School, happily return to volunteer in her classroom.

Redmond, Wash. - Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is honored to have been selected as one of 25 award-winning school districts for the State Superintendent’s Award for Educational Excellence in Student Achievement.
The State Superintendent’s Award for Educational Excellence recognizes the 25 top-performing school districts in educational achievement in the previous school year and the 25 top-performing school districts in progress over the last three school years.

March is Music in Our Schools Month. As we celebrate this observance, the Eastlake High School choir welcomed choirs from Alcott, Blackwell, Mead, Smith, McAuliffe and Carson Elementary.
