Mrs. Blair is our wonderful counselor!
My name is Kelly Blair and I am the school counselor at Blackwell Elementary. I'm so excited to be a part of the Blackwell community and am looking forward to supporting the academic, personal, social, and career development of the students at Blackwell. My goal is to see every student reach their full potential and grow into contributing members of their learning communities and society.
My role as a school counselor includes collaborating with parents, teachers, and community members to meet each student's unique educational needs. One way that I assist students is through teaching classroom guidance lessons using Kelso’s problem solving curriculum, the Second Step curriculum (preparing students for personal and educational success), and Steps to Respect (an anti-bullying curriculum).
I also meet with students in small groups focusing on topics such as friendship, social skills, study skills, organization, changing families, and other areas of need. Lastly, I am available to meet with students individually to discuss areas of student concern.
I look forward to partnering with you to support your student’s educational needs.
